Enjoy the magic of an evening at the opera ... Since 1989, many music friends have looked forward to Bad Wildbad in July, when the Belcanto Festival "Rossini in Wildbad" takes place.

There is a special association: in 1856, the extremely successful opera composer Gioacchino Rossini spent several weeks in the idyllic Black Forest town Wildbad and enjoyed the restful effect of the thermal springs in the princely baths. With success! At the beginning of 1857, after a long interruption, he began to compose again. He created a series of works that he lovingly named the "Sins of my Old Age".

Today in Wildbad you can hear not only Rossini’s celebrated masterpieces but also less well known works. The artistic director, Jochen Schönleber, presents less celebrated works by masters from Rossini's time in the series "Rossini & Co."

In addition, every year the international master classes take place and the recipient of the TEINACHER Belcanto Prize is announced. Concerts from other musical cultures and new music round out the program.
